"We came into the world like brother and brother, and now let's go hand in hand, not one before another.”
Take a pair of twin brothers (both called Antipholus), and another pair of twin servants (both called Dromio), separate them at birth and set them adrift in a city wary of strangers and with a reputation for sorcery, and you have a recipe for theatrical mayhem. One Antipholus is shocked by the kindness of strangers; the other confused by the people he knows. The Dromios, caught in middle, suffer the consequences!
A chaotic tale of mistaken identity, hilarious slapstick, and a city gone mad.
Performed in the Civic Plaza, in repertory, as part of Shakespeare on the Plaza.
Co-produced by The Vortex Theare & The City of Albuquerque, Shakespeare on the Plaza is one of the only Shakespeare festivals in the nation that takes place in the urban center of of a major US city. We believe a healthy city has a vibrant center, and we are proud to be a part of the downtown renaissance in Albuquerque.
